The aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors, often known as the G5, have been urged by Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker from Kaduna Central on the presidential candidate to support in 2023.
According to reports, the Governors would utilise their time in London, United Kingdom for a strategic conference to select a candidate to back in the presidential election of 2023.
Recall that the governors of Rivers State, Oyo State, Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Abia State, as well as Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, took a position opposing the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar for president.
They stated that the only requirement to support Atiku’s 2023 campaign was the resignation of PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu and his replacement with a southerner.

Ayu has refused to resign, and the Governors’ stance hasn’t altered despite numerous meetings and requests for help in resolving the dispute.
According to a source, the G5 Governors will choose between Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peter Obi, the nominee for the Labour Party (LP).
The Governors reportedly want to endorse a candidate from the south, but they also want to pick someone who will defeat Atiku so they won’t be made fun of after the 2023 elections.
The G5 governors may begin their campaign on January 5, according to the source, who stated that a final decision will be taken at the London conference.
Sani advised the Governors to support the Devil they are familiar with when discussing whom they should support.
On Tuesday, he posted on Twitter that the “G-5 Governors should support “the Devil” they know and not.”
