Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, has emerged the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.
The former governor who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the NNPP disclosed this during NNPP’s convention in Abuja on Wednesday, June 08, 2022.
The former governor who addressed party faithful after being declared candidate, noted that “NNPP stands for unity, peace and progress of the country”
Flanked by Ibrahim Shekarau, also a former governor of Kano, Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the NNPP would win the 2023 presidential election.
In his acceptance speech, Kwankwaso appreciated the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees (BoT), delegates, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and the security agencies for the success of the primary election.
“Today, you have confirmed that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will be on the ballot paper in the 2023 general elections.
“Let me assure you that I will do whatever it takes from my side to ensure the success of our party in the 2023 elections,” Kwankwaso pledged.
