Yahaya Bello, a presidential candidate and governor of Kogi State, has pledged to defeat Atiku Abubakar before 2 p.m. on election day if he is elected as the APC’s presidential candidate (APC).
Bello stated that he has the recipe to defeat Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential contender, in the 2023 general elections.
InsightnaijaTV reports that the APC, under which governor Bello is vying for the country’s top political position, will hold its presidential primary election this week.
The ruling party had planned to host its convention between Monday and Wednesday, June 6-8, 2022, at Eagle Square in Abuja.
Governor Bello stated he is the voice of young Nigerians, women, and those with disabilities during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
He said: “By June this year, I will be 47. I am still the young of the young people, the voice of the younger generation, the voice for the women, the voice for people living with disabilities, and the voice for Nigerians irrespective of religion, region, or tribe because we have demonstrated it in Kogi State.”
In response to a question about how to address Nigeria’s security challenges, the governor stated that his experience in Kogi State has proved his capacity to deal with insecurity.
If elected president in 2023, Bello also promised to address the country’s security concerns within a year of taking office.
According to the presidential candidate, since taking office as governor of Kogi in 2016, the state has seen low security challenges as a result of his leadership.
“I have demonstrated that well enough in Kogi State. By the special grace of God, we are going to achieve it within the first 12 months of Governor Yahaya Bello’s presidency,” he said.
