Former Transportation Minister Ebenezer Babatope claimed on Monday that Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi cannot win the 2023 presidential election.
According to Babatope, the upcoming election will be between the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Obi would be denied victory, according to Babatope, because his party does not cover the entire country.
He went on to say that Obi cannot claim to have the backing of the Labour Party in his bid to gain power in 2023.
The former governor of Anambra State would like to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
In an interview with the Daily Independent, Babatope stated that he would not endorse APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
When asked if he would support Tinubu, a fellow Yoruba, the former minister disclosed this.
Despite knowing Tinubu for more than 50 years, Babatope related his stance to differences in their political parties.
The former minister, a PDP member, supported the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
He went on to say that the former vice president would win the presidential election in 2023 with the grace of God.
