Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has indicated that he is willing to get dirty in the race to become Nigeria’s next President.
The APC presidential candidate for 2023 revealed this on Sunday at a meeting with Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, and Oba Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan-designate, to seek their blessings.
The Asiwaju promised that no other candidate would be able to frighten him out of the race, emphasising that he intends to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
His words: “No amount of intimidation can stop me. I am ready to get dirty. I am out to become President of Nigeria. We are at a crossroads.”
Before commencing on the journey properly, the former Lagos State Governor told the Alaafin that he needed to seek blessings from the traditional institution.
He said: “I cannot embark on a project of such magnitude without seeking for prayers and cooperation of the traditional rulers.
“I am here to inform our fathers of my decision to run for the position of the President of this country in 2023. What I need from our highly revered traditional rulers are their prayers and cooperation.”
