If Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, is elected president of Nigeria in 2023, he has explained how his administration will deal with insecurity.
Obi revealed that his administration will use two strategies to reestablish safety throughout the nation.
In an interview with BBC Pidgin on Sunday, he made this claim.
According to the former governor of Anambra State, lifting Nigerians out of poverty would be the primary priority of his administration.
Obi emphasized that if poverty is reduced, there will be a decrease in criminal activity in the nation.
The second strategy is to guarantee that all security agencies have access to sufficient tools that will enable them to do their tasks effectively.
He said, “Our commitment is to deal with insecurity decisively in two ways. The first is to pull people out of poverty. The more you pull people out of poverty, the more you reduce criminality.
“Secondly, to provide adequate measure for security agencies to effectively do their works and we will make sure they do their work”
