The former head of the Yoruba socio-political organisation Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, prayed for Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential contender.
The APC leader also took advantage of the visit to discuss his action plan with Fasoranti and the other group leaders.
Tinubu, who received the endorsement on Sunday after visiting his home in Ondo State, arrived at the Akure airport earlier in the day. He was met there by the state’s deputy governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, the APC chairman for the state, Ade Adetimehin, and other party leaders from within and outside of Ondo.
The APC presidential candidate stated on Sunday that President Buhari and the party’s northern governors had demonstrated to him that Nigeria can endure its difficulties while remaining united. He had just given the Afenifere leaders his Action Plan.

He said, “The North demonstrated to me that Nigeria can survive her unity.” Some individuals asked President Muhammadu Buhari to name someone, but he declined. He insisted that the procedure be carried out democratically.

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo state, has stated that he supports the most recent stance taken by the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation Afenifere, which has dealt yet another blow to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chances of winning the general election in 2023.
Afenifere on Sunday expressed support for Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) nominee for president, as APC officials approved his bid in Ondo. Adebayo Lawal, Mr. Makinde’s deputy, spoke on his behalf during the meeting and assured the group that his principle would fully support their choice.
“Engineer Makinde has always contributed his input whenever there is a major occasion or decision in the Afenifere or any other committee in Yoruba nation.” We are united by tribal brotherhood rather than political affiliation. And he has brought me here to tell you that he supports whatever decision you choose,” Mr Lawal said.
