Senator Orji Uzor Kalu believes that President Muhammadu Buhari will surprise the people of the South-East in the run-up to the 2023 elections.
This was said by Kalu at a meeting with members of his political structures in Abia on Thursday in his Camp Neya country residence in Igbere.
Buhari’s single largest capital project, according to the legislator, is being built in the South-East.
He called the N369 billion second Niger Bridge as the most expensive project under the current administration.
Igbos should have faith in the President and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, according to the Senate Chief Whip.
“The President still has 17 months in office and has a role to play in 2023. He may surprise the South-East zone”, Kalu said.
The ex-governor described the Buhari administration’s commitment to complete the budget in full in 2020 and 2021 as exceptional.
“No past president or governor in the country has been able to achieve full implementation of the budget since the present democratic dispensation.”
Kalu urged his followers to obtain voter registration cards prior to the general election to ensure complete participation.
He asked them to stay dedicated to the gubernatorial project in 2023 and elect someone who would provide democracy’s dividends to the people.
