Dele Momodu, a Nigerian journalist and former presidential candidate, sparked outrage online after sharing photos of an alleged meeting between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the New Nigerian Peoples Party presidential candidate.
This comes amid reports that Wike is considering leaving the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2023 general election.
The meeting’s details were not disclosed by Ovation International’s CEO, who uploaded the photo on his official Instagram account.
Wike has kept silent about his future plans since losing the Vice Presidential election to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
After losing the presidential election to Atiku Abubakar and being denied the option to be his running mate in the 2023 presidential election, Wike has been accused of working against the main opposition party.
Wike’s picture with the former Governor of Kano State has surfaced at the same time that his picture with the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, was published by an APC chieftain, Joe Igbokwe.
Despite several linkages and accusations to his defection from the PDP, Wike has yet to issue an official announcement and has neglected to congratulate Okowa on his Vice Presidential nomination.
