Persons with Disabilities who are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress have asked Nigerians on Friday not to be deceived by political parties using divisive smokescreens and religious fault lines to campaign for the 2023 general election.
Bankole remarked in a statement issued by the APC PWDs National Leader, Tolu Bankole, following their monthly media parley in Abuja on Friday, September 02, 2022 that the nation should not miss the opportunity to vote for time-tested APC candidates in the 2023 polls, adding that it was Nigeria’s safest option.
“This is why I believe all patriotic citizens of Nigeria must look past those employing the smokescreen of divisive campaigns and religious fault lines by voting for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima of the APC for the president in next year’s election,” the message said in part.
“The APC is the only party that has made the finest presidential offer.” Tinubu and Shettima’s combination meets the twin central nerves of transformational leadership: competence and character. I mentioned competence since both are experienced private sector technocrats with strong public service legacies as governors of Lagos and senators of Borno states, respectively.
“They have the character because Nigeria is at a crossroads to sustain the gains of the ongoing monumental infrastructural revolution and urgently rally the human and non-human resources to tame emerging challenges confronting the country.
“The duo of Tinubu and Shettima fit the mole from their track records of innovative approaches to developmental and security issues in the public domain.
“The nation must not gamble with her choice of leadership at this critical stage in history” he stated.
This comes as the PWDs leader urged on all ministers and heads of government agencies to provide their stewardship in gratitude of what the President’s administration, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), has done across all sectors in the last seven years.
According to him, the election is crucial to Nigeria’s stability and continuity as a nation.
Bankole claimed that remaining mute at this vital juncture should be interpreted as willful sabotage and betrayal of a leader who guided the country through a global pandemic, one of the most difficult periods in human history.
He, therefore, called to all persons with disabilities across the country, as a matter of urgency and national duty, to collect their Personal Voters Cards and get ready to cast their votes for APC at all levels in the impending 2023 general elections.
