The Chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan has said the rollover funds of the 2020 hajj which was canceled as a result of the outbreak of corona virus will be deposited in the Hajj saving scheme.

Alhaji Hassan said this while briefing pressmen on the position of the commission on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in Abuja, noting that intending pilgrims who wish to reclaim money deposited for the 2020 Hajj would be refunded via his or her bank.
He added the Commission would be giving privilege and right of first refusal in 2021 Hajj registration to intending pilgrim who wish to rollover their deposit for 2021 Hajj.
He however announced September 9, 2020 as the commencement date for 2021 Hajj.
“Any intending pilgrims who desire to recover his or her deposits shall be refunded his money. However those who may wish to leave or rollover their deposit for 2021 Hajj shall be accorded the highest priority and right of first refusal in 2021 Hajj.
“The Commission will commence Hajj registration for 2021 from September 9, 2020. In the light of this the Hajj portal for Pilgrims registration will be opened immediately. Further guidelines will be issued in due course”.
“The rollover funds will be deposited in the Hajj Saving Scheme which will soon take off”.
“The Commission has begun a transformation journey to the Digital World – a strategic transformation plan (2020- 2024) in which our idea will be driven by technological innovation”, he said.
