In Ogun State, at least 15 people are said to have died in battles between competing cult groups.
On Monday, eyewitnesses told journalists that the trouble began last week with the murder of “Tommy,” a popular local lad, near the Panseke bus stop in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Tommy, a member of the Eiye Confraternity, was allegedly murdered by the Aiye faction.
Seven people were slain in Abeokuta on Thursday and Saturday, according to InsightnaijaTV, while eight others died in the state’s Sagamu area.
Moshood Abiola Polytechnic students who lived in the Panseke, Onikolobo, Oluwo, and Adigbe neighbourhoods had now migrated to safer regions.
