Every one of us has a go-to move for sticking it out in the bedroom. However, some strategies, such as visualizing your grandmother knitting you a sweater, aren’t long-term solutions.
Trying new sex positions, as well as other interventions like Steady Freddy Climax Control Spray, can add spice to both you and your partner’s lives while also giving you more time on the buzzer.
We’ve compiled a list of the best positions to help you pump the brakes and last longer, based on our experience.
#12 The Lazy Sunday (Difficulty: Easy As)
Imagine scissoring with a touch of penetration, and you’ve got The Lazy Sunday.
It may appear that this is a position that will end you in a split second, but your movement will be limited and focused due to the weight of your partner’s leg. It won’t allow for as much penetration as the other positions, but it will get your rocks off slowly and steadily while also assisting you in maintaining an erection.
Simply lift your partner’s leg up onto your shoulder and begin thrusting. Simple.
#11 The Tilt-A-Whirl (Difficulty: Hard As)
This position will stimulate blood flow to areas other than your penis (which is probably why it works so well). The Tilt-A-Whirl assists you in maintaining your erection while also keeping your mind occupied with your partner’s safety (letting your partner fall may seem funny, but it’s an easy way to be unintentionally celibate for a week). We recommend this position at the start of sex, followed by a simpler position to help you orgasm when you’re ready.
Sit on the bed with your partner’s legs behind your back straddling you. Keep some distance between your torso and make sure you’re attached at the pelvis by not holding them too close. Hold their wrists together and start making love to them.
#10 The Kneeling Teddy Bear (Difficulty: Hard As)
Before you start on this one, make sure you’ve done your stretches. This position allows you to control your movements while simultaneously stimulating your partner’s penis or clitoris. This is referred to as a win-win situation.
Face each other while on your knees. Place one leg flat on the floor and instruct the others to do the same. To begin penetration, take their other leg and place it on your thigh. To make it easier on yourself, make sure your pelvis is slightly lower.
Tip: Try doing it on the floor with a yoga mat for more grip. You could always follow up with some Downward-Facing Doggy while you’re there.
#9 The Backseat Cowgirl (Difficulty: Depends on the car)
Everyone enjoys the thrill of car sex, whether they have a Hummer or a Mini. The best part about this move is that all you have to do is sit back and enjoy it. It’s also a great way for your partner to get some self-pleasure at the same time. We’ve got steamy windows here.
Take your partner to the back seat of the car and have them jump on top of you while facing away from you. Allow them to penetrate your penis and move up and down. Hold their hips and adjust the rhythm to the desired pace for more control. Because most cars have roofs, there won’t be much room for movement.
TIP: Bring your Steady Freddy spray and Steady Freddy Before and After Wipes with you on road trips so that you’re ready to go no matter where you are when the moment strikes.
#8 The Cuffed Wrist (Difficulty: Hard As)
With this BDSM-inspired move, you can turn your partner into a sexy doughnut. You limit your range of motion with deep and controlled thrusts that help you stick it out by getting out the handcuffs (or tie/bra/pant-leg/whatever is knottable) and locking yourself into position.
To begin, have your partner lie on their stomach with their wrists cuffed behind their back. To raise their torso, place some pillows under their chest. Spread their elbows and pass through their arms, then secure one of their ankles by locking their wrists behind it. Good sir, thrust away.
Tip: Check to see if your partner is happy with the height of the pillows and stop if they are. Just in case they get caught in the splash zone, try to use pillows that you don’t use as a sleeping pillow.
#7 The “Edge of the World” (Difficulty: Easy As)
This position is great because it doubles as a gym workout (same amount of sweat and grunting, probably fewer people watching your form), but it’s the extra effort that allows you to last longer.
Bring your partner to the edge of the bed and start things off with some oral foreplay. After that, take a one-way trip to pound-town by holding up your partner’s hips. While deep thrusting is possible in this position, the effort required discourages intensity.
Tip: When you’re on your knees, if you can’t quite reach your partner, the bed is too high. Try standing while your partner is lying down on the couch, dining table, kitchen counter, or desk.
#6 The Cross (Difficulty: Easy As)
Feeling lazy and don’t want to break a sweat? To be honest, that describes all of us. That is why The Cross is an excellent weapon to have in your arsenal.
First, lie down in bed, and then have your partner lie perpendicular to your pelvis.
To make the good times happen, align yourself to your partner’s vagina/anus like a heat-seeking cock rocket. Begin slowly thrusting while they stimulate their clitoris/penis. Move is extremely effective because it allows for deep penetrative sex while also allowing you to control your movements so you don’t get too carried away.
#5 The Cross Legged Straddle (Difficulty: Easy As)
Get your mortar and pestle ready, because grinding is the spice that will slow down your happy ending. Straddling is an excellent position in this regard because it brings the thrust to a “grinding” halt and forces you to perform slow, deep movements while supported by your partner’s weight.
Begin by sitting on your bed with your partner on your lap, their legs wrapped around your waist. Then penetrate them while keeping your thrusts slow.
Tip: You have hands, so use them. Stimulate your partner’s erogenous zones while kissing for good measure.
#4 Slow cowgirl (Difficulty: Easy As)
There’s a reason it’s a classic. Slow cowgirl allows you to relax and concentrate on staying alive longer while your partner does all the work – ahhh, the serenity! Positions that require you to go the extra mile and take the initiative can get a little too exciting, so this one is definitely worth adding to the list if things are getting too hot and heavy.
Lay down while your partner climbs to the top. Instead of focusing on fast and intense thrusting, try to respond to their pace and movements. In this position, you still get that deep penetrating sensation, but at a slower pace, which helps to extend the good times.
#3. 69 (Difficulty: Medium)
Everyone benefits from the 69th position. Your partner has fantastic oral sex, and you are so preoccupied with giving them the tongue-lashing of a lifetime that you forget to finish yourself. It’s the ideal prelude to the main event.
Lay on your back and allow your partner to climb on top of you, facing the opposite direction. Place yourself near your partner’s genitals and then go to town. Put a pillow under your head to relieve pressure on your neck while remaining in the thick of the action.
Tip: Steady Freddy Spray also works to slow you down in these situations if you frequently jump the gun during foreplay.
#2 Face to face (Difficulty: Easy as)
Do you want to make love the way they do in PG-rated movies? You can, however, do so now. The face-to-face position is the most common intimate position because it allows you to focus on your partner’s face without becoming distracted by what’s going on beneath the sheets. It only allows for shallow penetration and limited thrust movements, keeping you nice and steady.
All you have to do is face each other while laying on your side and slowly penetrate your partner in a position that you both feel comfortable with. Begin by rocking your hips back and forth, and you’ll be fine.
Tip: Take this time to kiss and play with your partner’s body. Also, make sure you place your pelvis lower than your partner’s in order to penetrate comfortably and allow them to be able wrap their legs around you.
#1 Spooning
Spooning is the ultimate move if you want to ‘fork’ for a longer period of time. It’s our top choice because it doesn’t require thrusting and the visual stimuli is typically limited to the back of your partner’s head*. (*I’m not shaming anyone who enjoys a good back-of-the-head kink.)
Begin by lying on your side, facing the same direction as your partner. Concentrate on grinding rather than thrusting for a more lasting experience. Make slow, shallow movements in a rhythm that your partner finds comfortable.
